Plongée au coeur de l’univers multicolore de Hassan Hajjaj, My Rock Stars propose une rencontre joyeuse entre photographie et musique. Autodidacte, l’artiste anglo-marocain nourrit son oeuvre aussi bien des héritages gnawa, amazighs, arabes et africains que de la culture reggae et hip-hop des années 1980. Il célèbre ici les figures qui l’inspirent, des maîtres de la musique traditionnelle à Billie Eilish en passant par Madonna ou Rachid Taha, tirant leur portrait dans un déluge jubilatoire de couleurs et de motifs.

My Rock Stars immerses us in the multicoloured world of Hassan Hajjaj. Here, in a joyous coming together of photography and music, this self-taught Anglo-Moroccan artist draws on his Gnawa, Amazigh, Arab and African heritages, as well as on the reggae and hip-hop cultures of the 1980s, to celebrate the many figures who inspire him: from the masters of traditional music to Billie Eilish, Madonna and Rachid Taha, all are photographed in a jubilant deluge of colours and patterns.
